OIL SANDS: PHOTOBOOK
Oil Sands is the culmination of a long-term project that's very close to my heart. Photographer, Alan Gignoux, has been working on the project for years, documenting the complex social and environmental impact of one of the planet's largest oil resources.
The book went to print in 2018, and won first prize in the Self-Publishing awards category at the Los Angeles Centre for Photography.
The project brings together a collection of poignant photography and interviews with local people, industry workers, and politicians from across Alberta and Canada. I worked with Alan to elevate the project's narrative, and bring balance to a hugely divisive and powerful subject matter.
I continue to work with Alan and the team at Gignouxphotos on a variety of award-winning photographic and documentary projects, including:
Appalachia: Mountaintops to Moonscapes
Homeland Lost (Palestine and the Saharawi)
Human Accumulations
Forests of Latvia
